Thelma Wynne Project
The Thelma Wynne project was started over 45 years ago to support new mothers and infants and provide them with essential baby items. With the support of the diocese the projects home base is at St. George’s Church in Winnipeg.
The Friendship Circle at St. John’s has been busy knitting baby blankets, sweaters etc. and collecting nearly new baby items for this project. Every year St. John’s Cathedral Friendship Circle members host an Afternoon Tea and Baby Shower, which will be held this year on April 26, 2026 after service in the John West Hall. Monetary gifts are most welcome to help provide diapers and other baby needs, also a small gift of toiletries is given to each mother. Toddler items are also collected to distribute to agencies to further support parents.
